New York With Love is a public design campaign that serves as a visual love letter to New York City, a token of appreciation to its rich 400-year history and future. I developed the campaign concept and creative direction for the project.

I picked three of the most recognizible landmarks in NYC: The Statue of Liberty, The Empire State Building, and One World Trade Center. These buildings play an important role in the history of the city, and represent NYC’s importance globally. Lady Liberty represents the New York’s international significance; The Empire State Building represents its domestic significance to the people of the past, and One World Trade Center represents its significance to us in present-day.

The phrase “With Love” was not originally part of the plan, but was later added to evoke more of an emotional connection. Without it, the campaign can easily be overlooked as as advertisement, rather than an appreciation. The effect is similar to that of Milton Glaser’s iconic, “I Love NY”, offering a point of reflection and a sense of pride to the city’s residents.
