This t-shirt design was created for a family reunion slated to take place in the Bahamas. The organizers requested that I incorporate Bahamian colors into my design. When creating this piece, I wanted to capture the festiveness and liveliness of the Bahamas in a non-traditional way that appealed to the family demographic (with the majority being under the age of 40). My goal was simple: creative, clean, vibrant, and fun. I achieved this by selecting a playful display font that matched the tone I wanted to convey. Pairing the typeface with bold colors and motifs (e.g. the tree being used as the "I") created a sense of youthfulness. On the back, I played with the layering of the tree and "Going Back to Our Roots" in order to create a sense of depth. As a unifying element, I thoughtfully used the headline "Going Back to Our Roots" as a text-based border.
