This issue cover for the The New Yorker showcases a fascination with the extraterrestrial through a child-like lens. The challenge was to create a language using symbols and implement said language into the design of a cover. The hieroglyphic "language" created used shapes and lines like the ones featured in the design.
To highlight the child-like feel, the design takes on a more organic construction, with imperfect edges and shapes. However, its overall composition gives the work depth and visual interest.
